(edited out any hints towards real person for psychic purposes)

but it is nothing compared to the value of gems. You get it, where it is going, gems aren't as valuable than fruit of streamentry..
I don't understand what the psychic purposes means and gems do you mean jewelry?🙏

Re: Do we send Mudita to Ourselves?

Muduta is a kusal citta. It is the joy that one is gifted with by extending metta (loving kindness or Maithri) to all external to oneself. As muduta is a kusal citta it is a quality of mind as cetasika within oneself. Yes mudita is very wholesome and peaceful, makes me feel grounded when I don't con...

Re: How to Manage Embarrassment/Shame

[quoting of now deleted post removed] Wildflower is clearly hurting.Times like these it's very hard to think about "the minds eyes" and "proper attention",when theres so much pain, etc.Brahmaviharas can provide relief. After the pain lessens wildflower can be in the position to practice seeing the m...

Re: How to Manage Embarrassment/Shame

Hi Wildflowers,

Practice the brahmaviharas towards yourself. Its very soothing and has the power to lighten or heal situations.Even if external things dont change internally you will feel relieved.

Re: equanimity for non-mask wearers

I have my written medical exemption from my GP... Appears very sensationalized & dubious but, if so, we must also develop equanimity towards this hysteria. The news says: Victoria death toll rises as state rocked by second-worst day of new cases A woman aged over 100 , a woman in her 90s and a woma...

Re: What is right way of thinking? Focusing on 3 things or 1 thing at a time.

Don't focus on the Goals. Focus on forming good habits. Set systems not goals.Don't rely on feelings or motivations.Setting goals means just doing it regardless. Just like you have to be at work at 8am.It doesnt matter if your tired, don't feel like it,haven't eaten, haven't showers, your usually at wo...

Re: What's the Benefit of Practicing Karuna?

Lots of good answers here already so I will just suggest that, of the four Brahmaviharas, karuna is the one which is least able to be practised in solitude. It needs to be expressed in action, far more than the other three. :namaste: Kim Yes,I Agree.Sila + helping others + dana +charity =I think th...

Re: What's the Benefit of Practicing Karuna?

Does it also get rid of restlessness and worry? I thought I read that somewhere not sure if I'm right. Yes it does! The brahmaviharas practice is really powerful to get you out of the lower realms (depression anxiety, trauma, bad day at work, bad day in general,if your feeling scared or afraid).Beings...

Re: What's the Benefit of Practicing Karuna?

Compassion leads to harmlessness, the lack of harming or cruel thoughts: This is the escape from harmfulness: compassion as an awareness-release. It can also lead to samadhi. Yes,I think the same thing was said about sila leading to harmlesness.A gift of harmlessness.Something along those lines.Pra...
