Re: Introductory resources

Would just like to say as I am currently unable to travel to the Theravadin temple in London, this forum is pure gold!

Could someone also kindly provide some useful links/books on daily devotions please?

Much metta,

Bob

Re: Treating Fleas?

Many thanks for all the great replies, everyone! I'm sorry that my topic has sparked such intense debate among some of you, but it's all good stuff we can learn from. Even though I'm not able to quote specific suttas, I feel I have a firm grasp of buddhism's philosphy, so thank you to all those who ...

Treating Fleas?

A friend of my posed a very good question today that I didn't have a ready answer for: How do Buddhists treat fleas?
I know we, naturally, wouldn't be able to kill them. But at the same time, it couldn't go untended. So what would be the correct method?

Many thanks guys,

Bob

Why Theravada...?

Hi everyone :)

I'm just curious as to why all of you have chosen Theravada as your chosen path in Buddhism? Or possibly why you did not choose another path...?

Much metta,

Bobby

Until then I'm getting through by downloading a lot of talks and meditations from Audio Dharma (such a great site!) IanAnd - Wh...

Need a little help...

Hi guys - I was just wondering if maybe some of you had a little advice for a stressful situation? I don't want to depress you all with the details, but I've been having a bit of a tough time in my life since the end of last year. My uncle became very ill and passed away within a few months of falli...

Re: Hey from London, UK

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :D It's nice to see that I share a similar experience with you Fede. My family and friends have also been very supportive of my decision - although when I began discussing elements of Buddhism with them I think they began to change their minds and developed headaches...

Hey from London, UK

Hi everyone, Just thought I'd introduce myself and tell you guys a little bit about myself: I never really considered myself belonging to a religion despite being raised a Catholic. At school I studied all other religions except Buddhism (no idea why!). So last year I took it upon myself to change t...

Re: Practicing with no sangha

Hi guys! (I'm new here - really glad to have found this forum!) I've actually only just discovered Buddhism (Nov last year) and because of a disability, I'm not really able to attend temples or classes, even though I have in the past. Having said that, I still keep my faith going by reading a lot an...
