Yes you absolutely will need medical intervention in order to stop drinking if it has gotten to this point. Have you spoken with any detox facilities yet? :namaste: As doctors can't help me, I have another plan. I will give my credit card to mother, and tell her, no to ever give me back. I can't bu...

Re: Buddhism and alcohol

I missed the appointment at rehab, because I got drunk again. Next meeting will be in 3-4 weeks. Detox was a good advice, but in my panic I detoxed myself at home. It was a heedless idea, because I had tremor and almost a seizure. Next time I will call the ambulance, i hope it will not happen. Doct...

Re: Buddhism and alcohol

Yes get professional help. Also try and meditate everyday if possible. This will train your mind to just observe the craving arise and pass away without acting on it. You may only be able to observe the craving for a minute or two to start with, but that's OK. The more you meditate the stronger you...

Or just a strange coincidence and nothing more. :namaste: But was the story intended as one depicting a serendipitous situation or to hint that Devas sent him Pepsi. :namaste: I guess the only way to really know would be to ask the author himself. Devas are said to help monks out occasional...

Re: Ajahn Brahm and the strange bottles of Pepsi!

I admire Ajahn Brahm a lot but can make no sense of this passage - During his tudong months he visited many of the most famous meditation masters, including Ajahn Tate and Ajahn Maha Boowa. Ajahn Brahm had a special affinity for Ajahn Tate and he found him to be one of the most selfless (in the hig...

Hi No Mind

The mod team realised that the previous time limit on editing had disappeared, so it was reinstated. You have one hour to edit.

After that you can request a change if it is something significant.
