Re: දිඹුලාගල සෙල්ලිපිය
The rock surface of the inscription has been cleaned by the Archeology department.
Although only half of the surface has been cleaned.
This raises question whether that part has been transcribed at all!

Re: Meditation and Neuroscience of Consciousness. Jhana and so forth
Jhana Only 4 (Ariya/Anariya) - Can result in fleeting moments enveloping the entire body with an unusual pleasure as the Vingnna is extinguished Ariya Jhana results as a by-product when one uses the "The Buddha's war machine" as described here. The practise results in Permenent (Pala) Samm...

Re: සමනල අඩවියෙ උපන් ලොව පලමු ම්නිසා
So the way the human civilsation seems to roll is as follows. The sequence of "modern-man" may not be exactly as it appear here. maha-badda-kappa (current-n) -> homo-eructus ... maha-badda-kappa (current-2) -> nenisovan maha-badda-kappa (current-1) -> neanderthal, maha-badda-kappa (current...

Re: දිඹුලාගල සෙල්ලිපිය
So here is a description of what is going on in this video for the benefit of non-Sinhala speakers. Sri Lanka is full of ancient rock inscriptions. This video is about a discovery of a new inscrption. This one is notable given the amount of letters found in the inscription. Its quite large. The insc...

Re: what does 'ariya' mean in MN 4?
I might have misread rajitha7's point here, but is he making a connection between ariya and iriyā (movement, deportment) rather than titthati? iriyā is posture. titthati probably belong to another topic. when one does; vi-riya > one becomes > a-riya vi-riya has been translated as "effort"...

Re: what does 'ariya' mean in MN 4?
“I’ve stopped, Aṅgulimāla—now you stop.” So Angulimala is giving chase to an image of the Buddha. He is unable to catchup. A Buddha normally never uses ordinary lanaguage in ordinary sence. Its always figurative. The idea is to make the person think twice. Buddha uses this technique a few times to ...

Re: what does 'ariya' mean in MN 4?
So the strict meaning of the term "riya" is moving. When translating to English is sounds ridiculous but I will give it shot. When Angulimala challenged the Buddha to "stop" the Buddha replied "I have already stopped". The moving / stopping idea is used to refer to ordi...

Re: Buddha's alms bowl stolen
I saw a head monk of a reputed Sri Lankan forest monastery remind people about the "Case of Bodhgaya" in Indian court (under British rule), Yes, so the operative phrase there is "under British rule". The British uses Sri Lankan history and its chronicles to frame a history for I...

That is usually the first impression.
Although I can assure you that map will stand scrutiny in any reputable court of law.
