It is being printed to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of Ajahn Chah in early 2018 and will be gradually distributed to all the branch monasteries overseas where people can get a free copy. Also a PDF and audio book will be available. Keep an eye on www.forestangha.org

Woolly hats are essential in the winter, especially in the north of Thailand where temperatures can drop down to zero or even below, such as today (apparently Doi Inthanon was even colder -5 Celsius at 2600 meters). China views foreign Theravada monks with suspicion for political reasons. I know a Thai forest monk who went to live in Yunnan province and was arrested twice by the authorities and kicked out of the country.

One thing you need to keep in mind, although all three places belong to the Ajahn Chah tradition, is that there is difference between WPN as a 'Western monastery' and the other two with a Thai Ajahn. If you ordain at WPN, you will have the freedom to move between the various branches in Thailand and...
