I find bending my toes like that very uncomfortable. Hopefully, with more practice, it will be less uncomfortable

Thank you for the replies so far, very interesting. I was hoping for quite a few more replies; presumably most folk here at some point bow to an altar/shrine, so I was keen to read views on how folk do so. I wonder if it's similar to Christians putting their hands together to pray. Some clasp finger...
