Re: What has humanity actually achieved?

All of our achievements center or revolve around ourselves. I think objectively, we would be seen as a destructive, self-serving species by others:

Re: What has humanity actually achieved?

Mal: Music? Painting? Did the Buddha ever recommend these? Aren't Buddhist monks supposed to keep away from these entertainments ... so as to fully calm down the senses and fully train the mind to not be enslaved by sensual pleasures? Doesn't music and art increase the passions of the mind and arous...

Re: What has humanity actually achieved?

David N. Snyder, If you are purposely blind to the continuous destructive behavior of homo sapiens as a species, if you are selective in what you wish to see, then you just won't see the full picture. Yes, individuals, as i mentioned in an earlier post, can be impressive, be compassionate for exampl...

Re: What has humanity actually achieved?

Daverupa,

Such presumption, and arrogance, on your end. Science is learning in leaps and bounds, how other animals, besides us, communicate, the depth and breadth of their lives. You presume stupidity, I prefer to say we do not have enough understanding to make that call.

Re: What has humanity actually achieved?

Daverupa,

Daverupa,

:(
Not that great of an achievement. Animal species communicate with each other, even plant species communicate with each other.

Re: What has humanity actually achieved?

What remarkable, positive and purposeful things has humanity achieved? Wow.... that's a tough one :? The ability to create fire? The printing press? Dissemination of wisdom.. to other humans (so they can be more balanced)..? I have a feeling this thread will come to a screeching halt trying to answe...

How can we support all beings within nature?

Every being should be respected and every life guarded. Support nature ~ help preserve habitat, help establish community gardens, garden yourself, create a wildlife garden in your back and front yard ~ get involved and make a difference... http://www.coolearth.org/ https://communitygarden.org/resour...
