Greetings Adrien,

Unfortunately, I'll have to decline this one.... it's a Triratna/FWBO site. Nothing against them, but the search engine is specific to Theravada.

Alas this means that even excellent sites like Buddhanet with a lot of Theravada content cannot be included in whole, because including them in whole would also automatically include their Mahayana content.

Metta,
Retro. :)

I thought of that, but I wasn't sure it had enough mahayana contents to be a problem. I posted it because the instruction for anapanasati and metta seemed to be purely theravadin, and because I've never found any teachings as much exhaustive as this one regarding metta. But you're right : stick whith theravada, it will fullfil google saffron's aim !

I would Recommend adding Theravada audio sites:

http://mahamevnawaflorida.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I dig the name. It sounds so good to me I thought it was a genuine Google product at first. Let me know if any of these are not the kind of thing you are looking for.

Hi Retro,

When I googled 'google saffron' I got this:

"Google Saffron (Theravada Search Engine)
http://www.google.com/cse/home?cx...A" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt – learn more."

It's not the most appealing first result! It's not a biggie but if it can be fixed w/o too much hassle.. :)

Also do you have this site included?

http://www.nissarana.lk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I like the serif font - I like the name - but maybe "Google Tumeric" would be best? :smile:

This is not a comment about Google Saffron search engine, but some tips to search offline as well.

Download the Pali Canon at:
Metta: http://www.metta.lk/tipitaka/tipitaka.zip (pretty comprehensive - the all Majjhima Nikaya) or
Access to insight: http://www.accesstoinsight.org/tech/download/bulk.html

Get this search engine (allows to save your search in HTML table with links) - SearchMyFiles: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/search_my_files.html

Another interesting search engine that allows you to search several words in same sentence - wanyword;
http://www.softpedia.com/get/File-manag ... word.shtml

Hope that helps.
Cheers.

hi
I tried to find a way to research in a specified language within Google saffron.... but as the advance search doesn't appear to be avaliable, and language selection is not existing as a search operator, I wonder if it would be possible to create sub Google saffron restricted in French or Spanish.,german..

or if anyone know a way that I didn't noticed...

thank you
