Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

I recall when I first came here in '85 a former Speaker in the Thai Parliament got a six year sentence for this crime. In this case the man hadn't actually insulted the King at all; he had just got drunk at a party and in a moment of bravado boasted that he would if he felt like it.
