Thanks for additional information about the Goenka lineage. It's good to know more about the history and roots of my practice since here in the USA we don't have easy access to monks, nuns, monasteries and teachers. The internet and availability of countless Buddhist resources is beginning to look like the closest thing we in the 21st century will ever have to our own teacher.

I have read many Dhamma talk, but never seen any person giving instructions so confidently like Ven. Webu Sayadaw.
His instructions are so simple and attaining Nirvana seems like a child play.

I just watched a video about Webu Sayadaw. Seems like an interesting Monk. What I am a bit confused about is, in the video it said he only practiced Anapana. If that is the case how does he fit into the whole Vipassana thing with Goenka?

Although Webu Sayadaw's practice was primarily Anapanasati, he had a very close relationship with U Ba Khin and inspired him to teach. U Ba Khin also ordained under Webu Sayadaw for a short period.
