My happy place

Post by Taijitu »

Hi everyone.

Just making this place to spread good karma and have it come back to me.

Feel free to talk about anything and everything happy or sad or just say hi.

Today is looking good so far. I have had a bowl of Alpen which I have not had for a long time and learnt a good lesson from the study group here.

I'm off for coffee with a friend later and then my first class on mindfulness which I am looking forward to.

Till then I am off for a walk to see what the world has to offer me. Maybe something interesting will happen that I can share. I had better keep my eyes and ears open. I think I'll take a notebook with me as well.

Well back from my walk. I came across a drawing on the ground of a leaf. Inside it read "In every walk with nature one receives far more then he seeks." by John Muir.

Walking back I was stopped by a homeless man selling the Big Issue. He grasped my hand and called me a good man and asked me for money. I emptied my pockets of everything I had which was very little indeed. He said the problem is he has five children and his rent is about to run out and told me he could prove he had five children if I came home with him.

He then asked if I had a bank card to get money out of the bank. Good Karma played a role here as it turned out I had forgotten my wallet (first time in years).

It struck me as odd.
Why would a man with little money chose to have five children?
If one chooses to have five children then why start calling it a problem?
If it is such a problem why not put them up for adoption so they can lead a better life?
Why think a stranger would give anything more then everything he has on him?
Did he feel that calling me a good man would increase his chances of getting money?
Did he feel that telling me he chose to have five children would increase his chances of getting money?

Perhaps tomorrow I shall go out with a bowl and spend the day begging so as to better understand.

Hi! Yesterday after dialysis, I was getting out of my sister's car. I took one step backwards so I could move my oxygen tank out of the way to shut the car door. Stepped on a patch of ice or snow and my foot slipped. Landed hard on my limited padding buttaroo. Head hit the ground next and the oxygen tank fell on my left knee. So, my sister and I got me onto my feet (which wasn't easy), back into the car, and returned to the hospital. This time to the emergency room. I was there over 3 hours and had x-rays and CT scans. Turns out I am alright, just very sore. The goose egg sized lump on my head is already almost gone! So, I have a lot to be thankful for! No broken bones, no concussion and my sister and I between our obvious distress, got a few laughs about it. For instance, if I had waited, like I was suppose to, for her to help me, I would have probably taken us both out. Then, where would we be?!
Happy day to everyone!

ps. The title of your post made me think of this song by the Beatles

That sounds so scary! But funny at the same time since you are all right.

Thank you so much for sharing your feeling through song. I love to do that myself. I feel we are walking side by side on the path of life right now and I am happy to see you as a friend.

2.48am. I will not be going begging today as I would wish to dedicate my full day to it and I have friends coming round later.

Today I will be aware of my theory on good karma:

Positive karma is affected by our own actions.
Positive karma is experienced by our perception of it.
A person with positive karma can bring positive karma to others merely through their presence or declaration of their perception of positive karma.
An ideal situation is when two people's perception of positive karma are in unison.
A perfect situation is when a group's perception of positive karma are in unison.
Delusion is when one's perception of karma is greatly different from the perception of those around them.
Tiredness can lead a person to be out of touch with karma.

With this I wish anyone reading this good karma today.

Had an enjoyable chat with plwk, fig_tree and m0rl0ck on http://www.dhammawheel.com/chat/ this morning.

My thoughts on karma were disagreed with but I was given http://www.thezensite.com/ZenTeachings/ ... gs/Uji.htm to read.

Just came back from hospital visiting a friend who gave me a rune with the marking Gebo on it.

I like this gift as it represents a magical exchange and balance to me.

Am I the only one in a happy place right now?

My 30 year-old nephew, who makes the best chocolate chip cookies, just brought a warm one up to me. I also found he is responsible for the beautiful candle in a homemade wooded holder with fresh pine around it that appeared suddenly in my bedroom.

“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”

loud gush the streamlets,
but great rivers flow silently.

lol
Just keep breathing in and out like this. Don't be interested in anything else. It doesn't matter even if someone is standing on their head with their ass in the air. Don't pay it any attention. Just stay with the in-breath and the out-breath. Concentrate your awareness on the breath. Just keep doing it. http://www.ajahnchah.org/book/Just_Do_It_1_2.php
