Unfettered at last, a traveling monk,
I pass the old Zen barrier.
Mine is a traceless stream-and-cloud life,
Of these mountains, which shall be my home?

I'm in the tropics, so the sun never really goes away.
Which makes me wonder: how far from the Equator do you have to go before you find a culture that traditionally celebrates the solstices?

Winter solstice in the passage of the great Neolithic tomb at Newgrange, in Ireland.

Not exactly a photo (made from several separate elements) but an interesting image nevertheless. Thanks, Kim.
