Buonasera!

Post by Marfa »

...or buongiorno, depending where you are!
My name is Marta and I am a very confused beginner student of Buddhism.
I've read and heard a lot since re-discovering the Four Noble Truths last year after coming across them by chance about twenty years ago (and then forgetting about them all this time). Probably too much or in a too disconnected way, as now I seem to have quite a bit of "porridge" (as they say in Russia) in my head.
Snooping around this forum, I have found excellent guidance in the form of many great inputs, materials and ideas, for which I'd like to thank you all. :thanks:
And hopefully, one day, I'll also discover that I'm not "the only Theravada Buddhist in the village" and will meet Dhamma friends around here - or even a teacher!

When I'm not littering forum boards with exclamation marks/emoticons or listening to Dhamma talks, I (try to) teach high-school boys&girls, do yoga, crochet and cook.
Oh, and watch too much Monty Python.

With gratitude,

M.

Welcome Marta!

:anjali:
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.
