"The discoveries matched years of archaeological ground research to reveal Mahendraparvata, a lost mediaeval city where people existed on a mist-shrouded mountain called Phnom Kulen 350 years before the building of the famous Angkor Wat temple complex in north-western Cambodia."

Very interesting, Dave. Took me a while to see the moss covered Buddha. Will look forward to further discoveries from this site.

I'm not sure what they mean when they say they "discovered" Mahendraparvata, given that some of these ruins have been standing in the back yards of the locals for centuries.

They had noticed some isolated temple structures before, but with this new technology they were able to notice roadways and avenues and other city infrastructure, as opposed to isolated structures.
