my life is cluttered and i am happy
things are divided and i am happy
things are seperate and i am happy
why am i happy? i don't know.
things are dusty and i am happy
things are cluttered and i am happy
everything is dying and i am happy
why am i happy? i don't know

whatever i do or don't do,
i could cast a shadow, i could have regret
so i do what i need to do.
i need to develop paramis to be well
i need to find ways to survive that aren't harmful
i need to do things for myself, till i am a bit more enlightened
then i can do things for others,
i'll know how.
i did things i had to do today.
some were very intense, but i did them.
what more could i ask for?

the great conquerors in the west never shared anything
not till they conquered everything completely
the great conquerors in the east
suffered for others for aeons, so they say
i don't believe it off hand
i don't need to believe it or not believe
in the buddha's life it's apparent he fought for himself
he fought out of self-interest, until he was enlightened.
before then what did he share?

Dear Convivium,

You should read Tipitaka/Suttas/Dhammapada/Jataka stories etc....then we can talk more about WHAT BUDDHA SHARED???!!!....I'm sure you didn't go 'pilgrimage' in Thailand just to drink CHA-YEN or O-LIENG or eat LUM-YAI....am I right????

But if you'll continue your next poems with the answer what did Buddha share...then please forgive me for interupting you...I really do like your poems...kind of sweet/sour/bitter..like Amalaka-pickles.

Please click: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/i ... %2C+jordan

*****************
Because Obama went to visit Jordan
AirForce flew my daughter-surgical team there
Just in case president got hurt
But nothing happened..nobody scared

So her team could tour ancient city of Petra
list of 7 world wonders..amazing Petra is the one
Kaleidoscopic sandstones architecture
Famous monuments, carved facade glows in the dazzling sun

Petra is the most famous and gorgeous site in Jordan
President Obama loved the tour
Secret service people surrounded him
No harm could happen to him for sure!!

The Petra basin boasts over 800 individual monuments
including buildings,tombs,temples,arched gateways
Petra sights are breathtaking in the morning
The surgical team walked around Petra.. all day

My daughter said the rock-carved rose-red city of Petra
Is full of mysterious charm hidden behind..rugged mountains
There is nothing in the world that resembles it
Petra, treasure of ancient world looks.. like rock-heaven

********
Tidathep said that sandstones in Petra look like VALLEY OF FIRE in Las Vegas.
Yes I toured VALLEY OF FIRE once...so very beautiful!!

the buddha shared a lot of things
in past lives, they say he shared incalculable things
let's leave aside all these great stories, and look at history (as best we can).
siddhartha gotama, the homosapien, was born a prince.
he left his pleasure palace to understand the world for himself
and what he found, suffering, shocked him
so, he sought the key to liberation from a world of suffering.
he lived as a samana, seeking out his own enlightenment.
thus, before his enlightenment, siddartha gotama, the homosapien, was a prince and a samana
he didn't share much as a prince or a samana.
but after his enlightenment, he was the sammasambuddha
the tathagatha, the thus come one
he had a lot to share after his enlightenment.
so i wonder, do we have more to share before our enlightenment
than siddhartha gotama (the homosapien) had to share before his (at least in that lifetime)?
i think we can only find ways share the speech/teachings of enlightened people
otherwise we can only sort of share what we've directly realized within the scope of those teachings.

Why your poem so short this time?...

May as well try my hand at some free form. Please excuse my rubbish.

I guess I'll call this one 'Rocks'

Sitting on a precipice
Wondering when the world will end
Am I the only servant
Who's duty binds him to this rock?

Where did the pilgrims go
Those hardy souls chasing gold
Now we sit alone
As stoic martyrs still

I look upon the sky above
I see the stars arising
Lonely years the light has taken
To find it's way into my eyes

The night is long advanced
The fire now gone out
All thought of faith unbound
long lost in days gone by

I stare out across the valley
Pondering the vastness
Moon light gives an eerie glow
Upon my roofless house

As I sit I feel quite foolish
All these years I've spent
Searching for certainty still
In the chaos of existence

Whence will the sign arrive
To show me the path I seek
Until that day I drift along
Seizing rocks in sunlight

"Can you hear, Can you see?"

A spiteful word, an angry look,
Can you hear the pain and sadness
…hiding behind those hurtful words?
Can you see the suffering behind that contorted face?

“May I listen to your problems a moment, friend?”
“Is there something that can be done to help?”

Instead, with hardened heart, we remain silent,
when we could instead open up and be at peace.
Life happens, you can’t avoid it,
and neither can the focus of your ire.

“May I listen to your problems a moment, friend?”
“Is there something that can be done to help?”

Simple thoughts to disarm anger and assuage hurt,
one needs not life’s every answer.
Listening intently, wholeheartedly, and patiently,
heal everyone, everything without so much as a word.

love
it comes
i suffocate it
and let it breathe
and suffocate my heart
it aches and slows me down
i am grateful for being slowed down
to see the delusions and catch the heart movements

Dear Members,

 HEARTS OF GOLD
Image

Oh love!
I truly love
People with hearts of gold
They are beautiful, rare, hard to find
I will tell them I love them.. nope.. I'm not shy
Why? Because I love to have heart of gold people in my world

I love to read dhammapada and jataka stories
Kalayanamittas were reborn as best friends
In many lives they wandered together
They helped each other to find
The ultimate noble truth
So devine!

Buddhas said
"@Only good people will know
Good and bad people.... but impossible
for bad, ignorant people to see/know good people"
Why? Because lobha dosa moha avijja tanha ditthi-vipallasa
Mana issa ahirika anottappa maya micchāditthi cloud their dark minds!

This is the end of the day
nothing more to think
nothing more to do
life is dead
Death is born.

The dream's over
but reality is not found
Incessant
Infinity ceases
and rises again.

Without body
It ascends,
Without hope
The Silence
Without feature
The Freedom
Without time, without dimension,
Without form
Existence.

The mold is broken
The vessel destroyed

The mind awakens.
