I'm not a big fan of the original, because I think it's to salty, but I do like the reduced sodium, lite, and turkey varieties. The stuff is kind of expensive now so if I buy a can once every few years, I'm ok. Turkey spam and over easy eggs is pretty boss!James the Giant wrote:I'm inspired to buy some spam and make that hawaiian thing. Or spam and eggs.

Hi Tilt,
Thank you for your work.
Eventually I converted the forum to SMF, with KeyCAPTCHA mod, and now I am free as a wind.
It's available for PhpBB as well: https://www.keycaptcha.com/captcha-for-cms/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
For additional security, I use CrawlProtect.
Thank you for your work.
I faced such a problem when I maintained PhpBB forum.tiltbillings wrote:That might happen again, and we will try to stop it as quickly as we can. In the meantime, as the spammers logon, they are being blocked both by name and IP, though that is something of a finger in the dike.

Hi m0rl0ck,
The textual captcha has a lot of shortcomings. This thing is different, it's visual.m0rl0ck wrote:I cant speak for anyone else, but i absolutely despise those captcha things. Half the time i cant read them.

But that wouldn't stop these guys anyway, they are real live people with the ability to solve captchas , not just computers.
Then,

you will put an end to suffering and stress.

Maybe ... but how would you go with captchas in foreign language and script?James the Giant wrote:But that wouldn't stop these guys anyway, they are real live people with the ability to solve captchas , not just computers.

Re: Chinese spam
Hi James,
These programs are able to solve common captchas.
In my experience, it does stop 99% of them. It's just unprofitable for them to spend much time on each registration, - they do it with automatic registration software to get the mass coverage.James the Giant wrote:But that wouldn't stop these guys anyway, they are real live people with the ability to solve captchas , not just computers.

Re: Chinese spam
Hi Tilt,
I would recommend to delete all accounts that were not used for a year and left no posts, and also those with unreadable names, so that they will have no inroads into the upcoming forum.
This is most probably done with automatic registration software.tiltbillings wrote:This might be of interest. If one goes to the member section http://www.dhammawheel.com/memberlist.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; the last page, as of this writing, is 277, and looking at page 277 and working forward one will see what are almost exclusively, for pages, Chinese spammers. From what I understand is that this is not the result of bots; rather, it is the result of human drones at work.

The garlic spam actually looks kind of tasty.

Gain and loss, status and disgrace,
censure and praise, pleasure and pain:
these conditions among human beings are inconstant,
impermanent, subject to change.
Knowing this, the wise person, mindful,
ponders these changing conditions.
Desirable things don’t charm the mind,
undesirable ones bring no resistance.
His welcoming and rebelling are scattered,
gone to their end,
do not exist.
