Search function?

Post by Nyana »

It seems that the search function isn't what it used to be before the last few rounds of site maintenance. One used to be able to search within an individual thread or search within an individual member's posts. Now, it seems that every search includes all results from all threads. Can this be fixed?

I can confirm this issue. Searching this thread for "maintenance" resulted in 259 results.

Thanks to both of you - this has been previously noted and will be addressed as soon as possible.

Now the "View your posts" page doesn't work as well.

And, as i write this message, I see the doubled panel above.

If you'd like, I will help you to convert to Simple Machines Forum. It is more stable, secure and easy to maintain. All the messages will be preserved.

Hi Dmytro,

Thank you for the kind offer of assistance. I heard some good things about Simple Machines, but just to be safe, I think we'll go with a software with some price to it to make sure to get rid of all the glitches.

David, if you use V-Bulletin, make sure you are careful about the 3rd party plugins you use. That's where most of the security holes come from. Try to stick to the official stuff and do a bit of research before you install a plugin.

If you want to specifically search on this site, the following works in Google Search:
site:http://www.dhammawheel.com search function
i.e. https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3A ... 93&bih=598
