Exquisite Ruby-Eye Buddha/Shwedagon Pagoda

Post by yawares »

Dear Members,

Today my daughter called from her top-secret Air Force Base, no bad news made me/Tep feel so good. Tep always emails her how to meditate and I email her Buddha's verses. I used to cry each time she called when she was in Afghanistan for 6 months(years ago). Now I don't cry anymore, Buddha's dhamma truly helps me how to cope with departing from someone I love the most.

So today I would like to share this exquisite Buddha statues/Shwedagon Pagoda with my daughter and you all (YES..I'll email this post to my daughter..she loves Dhamma Wheel too) ...Many many pictures in this post!

Lovely photos, Yawares!
I was in Burma two years ago. One of the many highlights was meditating at Shwedagon Paya at dawn.
“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”
- Cormac McCarthy, The Road

Learn this from the waters:
in mountain clefts and chasms,
loud gush the streamlets,
but great rivers flow silently.

Dear Ben,

Oh, sadhu sadhu sadhu!! You're so lucky to visit the great Shwedagon Pagoda!

I was such a sad person, because I learned about Thai/Burma wars history in school...so I never like Burma. I only dreamed of
touring Europe/USA/Japan/Singapore ..so like heavens to me.

Nowaday, my best dhamma friend is a Burmese doctor who's so wonderful with Buddha's dhamma/Pali and because of him going to Yangon to pay homage to the Ruby-Eye Buddha/Shwedagon...I started to look into all the beautiful Buddha statues/Pagodas and posted them for all members to see. I must thank Yahoo from my  for providing all the wonderful/impressive pictures !!
