Long time Atheist, 2 year buddhist
Hello everyone Just wanted to give a quick introduction, I became Buddhist 2 years ago after a very stressful situation in my life. I would say that it's the best religion because it is systemic versus arbitrary, which leads me to believe that's it's true because it's experience based versus prophet based.
Wake your self up inside and help everyone else wake up. If we want the world to end we can make it happen tomorrow. If we want to survive then we got to get together and survive. Get out of your life, whatever's important to you isn't really important to the world. There's more important things so start looking out for that and be a part of that as well because everything effects everyone else. Your silence is sometimes more deadly than your words.

Welcome! I hope your stay here is beneficial!
Gain and loss, status and disgrace,
censure and praise, pleasure and pain:
these conditions among human beings are inconstant,
impermanent, subject to change.
Knowing this, the wise person, mindful,
ponders these changing conditions.
Desirable things don’t charm the mind,
undesirable ones bring no resistance.
His welcoming and rebelling are scattered,
gone to their end,
do not exist.

Welcome to DW ,
I find that in Buddhism we should really transform our minds, if we study the Buddha Dharma and and we can;t even show kindness to the people around us, or even an enemy perhaps then it is only all just intellectual . When we transform in our minds then all our actions and speech follow suit automatically.
