Re: Dhamma Wheel meetings

Post by retrofuturist »

Greetings,

I caught up with Ben on the weekend. I was using his computer to check Dhamma Wheel and such, and accidentally stumbled upon an online banking transaction in which an anonymous person from California had transferred a significant sum of money into his account. I was curious about it, but I didn't ask Ben what the story was.

Later, after this knife incident...

... I realised it was an assassination attempt! Thankfully I managed to thwart it though, through the innovative use of a set of tongs. Unable to take me out of commission, Ben was obliged to return his commission to the anonymous sender of said funds. The appropriate authorities have been informed.

:spy:

Metta,

Great photo!

Is that Ben behind you??

I thought I read that you (Ben) lost a lot of weight (I think I read from one of your posts) while you were on the long retreat.

That is me, David!
Yes, I did loose some weight which I am now finding again.

Paul was a great help in the kitchen. Saved my 'bacon' by helping me to prepare for a week-long camp with 84 people (mostly 12/13 year olds). Got in some sights around Launceston as well, even the monkey enclosure.

Well, at least one of you will be odd.

Thanks Quinn! Great photo Ben and Paul!

Retro - Maybe you've now guessed why Ben is living in a Penal Colony? Did you really think he spent that month in Burma?

Pilgrim - I will look forward to seeing the photos of your meeting with Hanzze!

Hi Laura,

No, that is from Wat Thai L.A. where Ayya Phalanyani was staying at the time. Yes, that is beautiful.

Here is the altar at my place:

Two mini-Maha Bodhi Temple replicas on each side.
Wow, look at that lovely Buddha! Wish I could see it in person :)

Best,

Is this in honor of the new Three Stooges movie that's coming out?

Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

Blog, Suttas, Aj Chah, Facebook.

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.

Thanks Cittasanto and Ben!

Previously my hair has been receding and graying quite a bit, so I think you might be right. Instead of trying to do a comb-over or coloring it, just shave it off, and voila -- no more gray, no more receding hair lines!
