Re: Luangta Maha Bua passes away
I am at a loss for words. Ajahn Maha Boowa has been a tremendous influence and inspiration too my practice. He was my favorite living Thai Forest teacher and one of the greatest meditation masters of this century. May his passing inspire us all to practice that much harder.
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

Re: Luangta Maha Bua passes away
I was just thinking a few days ago what a blessing it is that he lived through the twentieth century, tirelessly imparting his wisdom and compassion to those who would listen and honouring his commitment to the Dhamma amidst all the upheavals that occurred not only in Thailand but also around the world.
Three bows for the late Bhante.

Thank you for bringing this sad news to our attention so early.
He will be missed - not only for his achievements in meditation and in teaching the Dhamma - but also as a stabilising force in the Thai Sangha and Thailand itself.
One wonders what the future will bring....
with metta and respect,
Chris

Thanks for sharing the news and feelings. I was inspired by his writing "The path to arahantship" and was planning to visit him this summer ... But I still feel he is with us. His teachings will always be with us. I believe now he has completely ended suffering and is at peace ...
My heartfelt respect and gratitude to Luangta Maha Bua ...

Re: Phra Maha Bua passes away
The funeral will be a huge event. Forest Monastery Abbot's from all around the world, bhikkhus, lay people .... probably hundreds of thousands of people.
He was the last well known direct disciple of Tan Ajahn Mun, and has been the seniormost teacher of the Forest tradition in the lineage of Tan Ajahn Mun for the last 15 years, his books ''Ven. Acariya Mun - A Spiritual Biography" and ''Patipada" have made the Forest Tradition widely known in Thailand and internationally.
He commands enormous respect for his flawless practice and exalted spiritual attainment, and his Dhamma teachings for free distribution have found an enthusiastic audience among meditators all over the world.
Along with the reverence due to such a great teacher, there will, I'm sure, be the usual photos of lights, globes in the sky and talk of crystallised relics after the cremation.
You can learn more about Luang Dtah Maha Boowa and his teachings at http://www.forestdhammabooks.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

just out of curiosity, did you get permission to open a facebook page on Than Acharn Maha Bua (Luangta Maha Bua) ?
As far as I know Than Acharn Maha Bua never allowed other websites under his name or in his name except for http://www.luangta.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, where his monks are responsible for the contents.
