Each year on this day, thousands of monks, nuns and lay people gather together at Wat Pah Pong, the monastery established by Ajahn Chah and the main monastery in his lineage, to commemorate his life and teachings."

Even today, his simple, yet profound way of teaching the Dhamma inspires many people. What an inspiring disciple of the Buddha he was.

Tonight is the last day (and night) of Dhamma talks and meditation at Wat Nong Pah Pong in Ubon, Thailand. About 2 thousand monks would have done the circumambulation around Ajahn Chah's stupa today, followed by several thousand laypeople. But people were camping the in grounds of the monastery for a whole week and practised meditation together. All is supported by voluntary donations of food and other help.

(In Thailand, today is also known as the Teachers Day or 'Wan Khru', which is a coincidence.)
