Have any of you heard that the psychic power divine eye is needed in deeper meditation? Is this a valid concern? Also, if it is, why?

I understand that some sorts of meditation can result in such perceptions, but they are not essential in terms of the goals of Dhamma practice, so I don't think it's a concern.
"And how is it, bhikkhus, that by protecting oneself one protects others? By the pursuit, development, and cultivation of the four establishments of mindfulness. It is in such a way that by protecting oneself one protects others.

"And how is it, bhikkhus, that by protecting others one protects oneself? By patience, harmlessness, goodwill, and sympathy. It is in such a way that by protecting others one protects oneself.
