Seeking Pali Chanting - hi-res, with no audio glitches

Post by retrofuturist »

Greetings,

Does anyone know where online I might be able to find some good quality, high-resolution MP3 Pali Chants on the Internet?

Anything I've found thus far is either in terribly low resolution, or has lots of audio artefacts...

Metta,
Retro. :)

Hello Retro,

Could you list what you have already listened to – otherwise these might just be repeats:
Buddhist Audio Files

Pali chanting by the Wat Metta Sangha.

Pali Devotional Chanting (MP3 Files)

Greetings Chris,

They're repeats but certainly may be of interest to others, so thanks for sharing.

The Wat Metta Sangha one is good quality for the most part, but alas there's some distracting 'audio glitches' in the files.

Another one I have is this one shared once by venerable Gavesako...

Arahang
http://sites.google.com/site/dhammatube/arahang" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I do quite like the combination of music and chanting in the Arahang set, but in this specific topic I'm looking for something a bit more traditional.

Here is also...

Dhammapada Chanted in Pali

These are quite nice...

Audio Readings of Selected Texts

The audio readings presented here are in mp3 format and can either be streamed by left-clicking on the link, which will open a new window where the recordings will play; or they can be downloaded by right-clicking and choosing to save to the hard-disk.

As of October 2010 all the English works have now been read in, and they are also all embedded in the respective pages in the English Only section. For the most part the readings have been broken into smaller sections to allow for easy access and download.

As of March 2011 I have started to make readings in Pāḷi available and will continue with this work over the coming years, and will try and include readings of the Sanskrit works in the collection here too.

Note that these files are not included in the website download but are being hosted on the very fast Internet Archive servers and must be downloaded separately. Please feel free to share these recordings with your friends.
