Ajahn Thongrat the teacher of Ajahn Chah and was a very close disciple of Phra Ajahn Mun Bhuridatto and Phra Ajahn Sao Kantasilo. Ajahn Thongrat was a unusual practitioner but very skilful in meditation. Phra Ajahn Mun send him always for a 1 or 2 years into the forest or caves to practice meditation. Ajahn Thongrat become an Arahant after 7 years under guidance of Phra Ajahn Mun. I found this Dhammatalk about Ajahn Thongrat of his way of practice and some experience told by Ajahn Pasanno.
