Translating "pahūtā"

I'm looking at Snp 4.11 (aka KN 5.49 or PTS: Sn 862-877) which has the word pahūtā in varying compounds. It seems to be translated as "arising" but I'm having a hard time figuring out why (other than that it makes sense from context). Is it some form of "hoti" or "bhavati" or some other "bhu" word? If so, how does it get formed?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ever notice how you can beat your head against a problem for a long time, and as soon as you ask the question, the answer appears even though no one answered it for you, it's just that you looked again? I've been over those verses four times but never caught "pahoti" as my probable answer (though I still am unsure how I get from pahoti to pahūtā).
