Culavedalla sutta wrote:"Now what, lady, lies on the other side of pleasant feeling?"
"Passion lies on the other side of pleasant feeling."
"And what lies on the other side of painful feeling?"
"Resistance lies on the other side of painful feeling." [7]
"What lies on the other side of neither-pleasant-nor-painful feeling?"
"Ignorance lies on the other side of neither-pleasant-nor-painful feeling."
"What lies on the other side of ignorance?"
"Clear knowing lies on the other side of ignorance."
"What lies on the other side of clear knowing?"
"Release lies on the other side of clear knowing."
"What lies on the other side of release?"
"Unbinding lies on the other side of release."
Does the phrase means releasing to gain insight or vice versa?
May i ask release of what?

Alternative translation from Ven. Bodhi:
“Lady, what is the counterpart of pleasant feeling?”
“Friend Visākha, painful feeling is the counterpart of pleasant feeling.”
“What is the counterpart of painful feeling?”
“Pleasant feeling is the counterpart of painful feeling.”
“What is the counterpart of neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling?”
“Ignorance is the counterpart of neither-painful-nor pleasant feeling.”478
“What is the counterpart of ignorance?”
“True knowledge is the counterpart of ignorance.”
“What is the counterpart of true knowledge?”
“Deliverance is the counterpart of true knowledge.”
“What is the counterpart of deliverance?”
“Nibbāna is the counterpart of deliverance.”
And from his footnotes:
The word “counterpart” (paṭibhāga) is used to express the relationships of both opposition and supplementation.
Deliverance (vimutti) can also be translated as liberation, like the liberation from underlying tendencies(anusaya). So deliverance is the counterpart (supplementation sense) to true knowledge.

Deliverance relies on release and release relies on unbinding. How, what and who that are being bind and for unbind :strawman:

With the arising of knowledge, a monk has attained Nibbana, and is released from the round of birth, ageing, and death, sorrow, lamentation, pain, sadness, and distress.
