Vivartasthāyikalpa

Post by Pondera »

I'm wondering if anyone can provide reading material relating to this quote from Wikipedia on Buddhist Cosmology?
Vivartasthāyikalpa
First antarakalpa
The Vivartasthāyikalpa begins when the first being is born into Naraka, thus filling the entire universe with beings.
Thanks,

In Pali the word is vivaṭṭaṭṭhāyīkappa.

See the account of recollection of former lives in the Path of Purification, where Ñāṇamoli translates it as “what supersedes the expansion.”
Yena yena hi maññanti,
tato taṃ hoti aññathā.

In whatever way they conceive it,
It turns out otherwise.
