buddha statue

Post by knighter »

Hello there

Just wondered if anyone can help me ?. Ive been bought a buddha statue to add meditation but i can't find the meanings of the hand positions on the statue anywhere.
The right hand is raised to shoulder hight with palm facing out, thumb & middle finger touching other three fingers pointing up the the sky.
left hand palm facing up with index finger (one next to thumb) pointing to the sky with other fingers flat.
Please help
Thanks knighter

The right hand is a shunya mudra, while the left hand looks close to a chin mudra, but I don't think that's it exactly.

A slightly off avakasha mudra, perhaps... you know, the Dharmawheel folks will probably know right away.
