Pure as Gold..
Friends:
Praise or Blame. Fame or Failure!
The Buddha said about BLAME:
This, Atula, is an ancient saying, yet timeless and thus relevant even today:
They blame the one, who talks much. They blame the one, who says little.
They even blame the silent one... No one in this world is never blamed!
Dhammapada 227
FACT
There never was, nor will there ever be, nor does there exist one now,
who is only praised or only blamed ....
Dhammapada 228
PRAISED
The one examined carefully by the wise, yet still praised as peerless,
wise, learned and genuinely good, like a ring of refined gold, who can
ever rightly blame such one? Even the divine and Brahma praise such one!
Dhammapada 229-30
Comments: The Buddha once asked his students, "And what is right speech?
Abstaining from lying, from divisive speech, from abusive speech, & from idle
chatter: This is called right speech." -SN 45.8
He also taught: "Monks, a statement endowed with five factors is well-spoken,
not ill-spoken. It is blameless & faultless by knowledgeable people. Which five?
It is spoken at the right time. It is truth. It is kind. It is advantageous. And it
is spoken with a mind of good-will." -AN 5.198

Dhamma on Air Audio #32: The 7 Sets = The 37 wings to Awakening..
https://soundcloud.com/bhikkhu-samahita ... r-32-audio
Dhamma Questions answered:
Q95: Venerable Sir, for the benefit of Devas and Humans, can you please talk about the
37 wings to Awakening, and the benefits they give anyone, who cultivates them?
Q96: In Asia there is a "hungry ghost festival" in the 7th lunar month, where one of filial piety
to help one's deceased mother and father offer food to the Sangha, so if they have been
reborn in hungry ghost Peta realm, then they would gain a better rebirth next time.
Is that in accordance with the Dhamma, or is it blind superstition?
Q97: Is working at a cafe that stocks meat products wrong livelihood?
Q98: Where does the visual consciousness arise: In the cornea, lens or retina?
Q99: If unaware of their ego would people then not pay attention to others?
Or is this ignorance?

The Smiling Elevator ;-)
Friends:
The Evaporator of all Evil States of Mind!
The Blessed Buddha once said:
Bhikkhus and Friends: Once the mental release by infinite Friendliness
has been developed, frequently practised, firmly established, expanded,
made a vehicle, foundation, and brought to full perfection, then it will
be impossible for ill-will to take possession of and obsess the mind, for
the mental release by infinite Friendliness is the release from all ill-will!
Once the mental release by compassionate Pity & tender understanding
has been developed, frequently practised, firmly established, expanded,
made a vehicle, foundation, and brought to full perfection, then it will
be impossible for violence to take possession of and obsess the mind, for
the mental release by compassionate Pity is the release from all violence!
Once the mental release by mutual Joy rejoicing in other being's success
has been developed, frequently practised, firmly established, expanded,
made a vehicle, foundation, and brought to full perfection, then it will be
impossible for discontent to take possession of & obsess the mind, for
the mental release by mutual Joy is the release from all discontent!
Once the mental release by serene, still and imperturbable Equanimity
has been developed, frequently practised, firmly established, expanded,
made a vehicle, foundation, and brought to full perfection, then it will be
impossible for greed & lust to take possession of & obsess the mind, for
release by imperturbable Equanimity is the deliverance from all greed!
The 4 supreme mental attitudes (Brahmavihara) are thus:
Friendliness, Pity, Mutual Joy and Equanimity!

Serene is Silenced Equanimity...
Friends:
Serene Equanimity promotes imperturbable Peace:
Equanimity just looks on and observes, while calmly settled in composed neutrality.
Equanimity is characterized as promoting the aspect of impartiality among beings.
Its function is to see the equality of all beings. It is manifested as the quieting of
both resentment and approval. Its proximate cause is seeing and comprehending
the ownership and efficacy of kamma thus: All beings are owners of their actions,
born, created and conditioned by the accumulated effect of their past intentions!
Whose, if not theirs, is the choice by which they have become happy, or unhappy,
or will break free from suffering, or have fallen down from their past good state?
Equanimity succeeds, when it makes both resentment and approval subside, and it
fails, when it instead produces a bored, indifferent, & careless state of negligence!
Vism I 318
Comments:
Non-involved and even Equanimity is a subtle form of happiness... By stabilization
it perfects and consummates all the other six links to awakening: Awareness,
Investigation, Energy, Joy and Concentration. Equanimity is the proximate cause
for knowing and seeing it, as it really is. Equanimity quenches any upset agitation!
When seeing and noting: 'All this is constructed, conditioned, coarse and transient!
But this state of serene equanimity is indeed exquisitely peaceful...', then instantly
ceases any arisen agreeable or nasty feeling, when Equanimity takes its stance
Equanimity (Upekkha) is indeed a divine state and itself a link to Awakening!

No one was frightened of me, nor did I fear anyone.
Uplifted by such universal friendliness, I enjoyed the forest.

that lasts and brings happiness.
Cultivate generosity, the life of peace,
and a mind of infinite universal love.
Itivuttaka 22
With good will for the entire cosmos,
cultivate a limitless heart & mind:
Beaming above, below, & all around,
unobstructed, without trace of hostility.
Sutta Nipata I, 8
He who does not punish nor makes others punish,
He who steals not nor makes others steal,
who friendly shares with all that lives,
finds enmity with none.
Itivuttaka 27
Let no one deceive another
or despise anyone anywhere,
or through anger or irritation
wish for another to suffer.
Sutta Nipata I, 8
For one who deliberately & aware
develops Universal Friendliness
Seeing the fading away of clinging,
All chains are worn down & broken.
Itivuttaka 27
Overcome the angry by friendliness;
overcome the wicked by goodness;
overcome the miser by generosity;
overcome the liar by truth.
Dhammapada 223
Who is hospitable, open and friendly,
Generous, gentle and unselfish,
A guide, an instructor, a leader,
Such a one to honour may attain.
Digha Nikaya 31
The friend who is a helper and comrade,
the friend in both good and bad times,
the friend who gives good advice,
the friend who never despises,
these four as friends the clever keep
and cherish with pure devotion
as does a mother her only son.
Digha Nikaya 31
Having killed anger you sleep in ease.
Having killed anger you do not grieve.
The noble ones praise the slaying of anger
-- with its honeyed crest & poison root --
for having killed it you do not grieve.
Samyutta Nikaya II, 70
Knowing that the other person is angry,
one who remains mindful and calm
acts for his own best interest
and for the other's interest, too.
Samyutta Nikaya I, 162
Train yourself in doing only good
that lasts and brings great happiness.
Cultivate generosity, a peaceful living,
and a mentality of infinite friendliness.
Ittivuttuka 16
Solitude is happiness for one who is content,
who has heard the Dhamma and clearly sees.
Non-violence is happiness in this world:
Harmlessness towards all living beings.

Amity is Precious and Universal!
As I am, so are others...
As others are, so am I...
Having thus identified self and others,
Never Harm anyone, nor have any abused.
Sutta Nipata 3.710
Among tigers, lions, leopards & bears I lived in the jungle.
No one was frightened of me, nor did I fear anyone.
Uplifted by such universal friendliness, I enjoyed the forest.
Finding great solace in such sweetly silenced solitude…
Suvanna-sama Jataka 540
I am a friend of the footless,
I am a friend of all bipeds,
I am a friend of those with four feet,
I am a friend of the many-footed!
Anguttara Nikaya 4.67
May all creatures, all breathing things,

experience good fortune only.

The 6 Things Uniting in Harmony to be Remembered:
The Blessed Buddha once said:
These six things are to be remembered in order to Unite any Community in Harmony:
Which six?
1: Friendly Behaviour (metta-kaya-kamma=friendly bodily action) both in public and in private.
2: Friendly Speech (metta-vaci-kamma=friendly verbal action) both in public and in private.
3: Friendly Thought (metta-mano-kamma=friendly mental action) both in public and in private.
4: Sharing of Gains (sadharana-bhogi=common wealth) even down to any single lump of food.
5: Moral Harmony (sila-samannagato=uniform morality): All respect the same ethical rules.
6: Harmony in Views (ditthi-samannagato=uniform attitude): All share the same general views.
These 6 things are to be considered & remembered both for individual & social Harmony...

The Way to Divine Mental Liberation:
DIVINE:
If one speak the truth, is not angry and gives
when asked, even when one has only a little,
one may win a divine future state...
Dhammapada 224
FINAL BLISS:
The homeless sages, always restrained,
in both body and behaviour, finally pass to
the deathless state, where sorrow is not...
Dhammapada 225
ENTHUSIASM:
Those who are always aware and awake;
Training day and night, intent only on Nibbana,
their mental fermentations gradually evaporate.
Dhammapada 226
Comments: When Devas have been asked what good deeds they had
accomplished here on earth to cause them to be reborn in the happy
world in which they live, they have given different answers. Speaking
the truth, restraining anger, leaving hatred, listening to the dhamma,
charitable gifts of goods and wealth, even giving small gifts of fruit
and vegetables to a Bhikkhu or someone else are among the answers.
Even if we are poor, and have only the most modest gift to offer to
the Noble Sangha of Bhikkhus, such gifts are extremely meritorious!
In order for us to never return to the world in which we are now living,
we must become a faith-devote, a faith-liberated one, a body-witness,
a both-ways-liberated one, a Dhamma-devotee, a vision-attainer, or
a wisdom-liberated one, or finally an fully awakened Arahat!
The Buddha taught us to be “always alert and ever aware" so that we
may attain Arahatship, become liberated from all suffering while here,
and thus obtain the benefits of never having to experience birth,
old age, sickness, and death again! He insisted that we must train both
day and night, during all activities, in order to reach the supreme, blissful,
rapturous, quenched, satiated, stilled and calm state….NIBBANA!

Any Lay Buddhist simply joins the Three Refuges and undertakes the
Five Precepts like this: Newly bathed, shaved, white-clothed, with clean
bare feet, one kneels at a shrine with a Buddha-statue, and bows first
three times, so that feet, hands, elbows, knees & head touch the floor.
Then, with joined palms at the heart, one recites these memorized lines
in a loud, calm & steady voice:
As long as this life lasts:
I hereby take refuge in the Buddha.
I hereby take refuge in the Dhamma.
I hereby take refuge in the Sangha.
I hereby seek shelter in the Buddha for the 2nd time.
I hereby seek shelter in the Dhamma for the 2nd time.
I hereby seek shelter in the Sangha for the 2nd time.
I hereby request protection from the Buddha for the 3rd time.
I hereby request protection from the Dhamma for the 3rd time.
I hereby request protection from the Sangha for the 3rd time.
I will hereby respect these Three Jewels the rest of my life!
I accept to respect & undertake these 5 training rules:
I hereby accept the training rule of avoiding all Killing.
I hereby accept the training rule of avoiding all Stealing.
I hereby accept the training rule of avoiding all Sexual Abuse.
I hereby accept the training rule of avoiding all Dishonesty.
I hereby accept the training rule of avoiding all Alcohol & Drugs.
As long as this life lasts, I am thus protected by these 5 precepts...
Then, one keeps and protects these sacred vows better than one's
own eyes & children!, since they protect you & all other beings much
better than any army! They are the highest offer one can give in & to
this world! So is the start towards Nibbana: the Deathless Element!
This is the Noble Way to Peace, to Freedom, to Ease, to Happiness,
initiated by Morality, developed further by Dhamma-Study and
fulfilled by training of Meditation...
Today indeed is Pooya or Uposatha or observance day, where any lay
Buddhist normally keeps even the Eight Precepts from sunrise until the
next dawn... If any wish an official recognition by the Bhikkhu-Sangha,
they may simply forward the lines starting with "I hereby ..." signed with
name, date, town & country to me or join here. A public list of this new
quite rapidly growing global Saddhamma-Sangha is set up here!

How to be a True Buddhist through Observance?
Il Poya day is this full-moon day of November. This sacred day celebrates:
1: The Buddha Gotama's declaration of the next Buddha Metteyya.
2: The sending out in the world of the 60 missionary Arahats
3: The passing away of the general of the Dhamma: Sariputta.
4: The Buddha's 1st explanation of Anapanasati Breathing Meditation.
