I signed this petition against whale hunting and sent the link to many other people. Please do so as well.
We have ~70 hours left.
I hope you join in. Together we stand.
Something's got to give.
You can even donate money right there on the spot via pay pal, Visa and phone and so support those who are donating their time to bring this to where it may have an effect.
I count on you. The whales need your voice.

Thanks to Cooran who pointed us to this, thanks to HHDL, who drew attention to it in his own way, just see how good it all is.
Thanks to everybody for your big heart.
Big hug.

Re: Please sign this petition against whale hunting
Done.
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

Done. And what a great site - I think I will be visiting there often!
Re: Please sign this petition against whale hunting
Yes, it is. I watched the counter for a few minutes, hundreds of people signed in only a few minutes, globally!
Wow...

Done!
Thag 1.20. Ajita - I do not fear death; nor do I long for life. I’ll lay down this body, aware and mindful.

Signed and forwarded.

I signed. Repeatedly. Bogus name - bogus email - I signed repeatedly and watched as Bozo the Clown, [email protected] got credited with being against the killings ...

Done, though I don't think its going to make one iota of difference.
“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”

in mountain clefts and chasms,
loud gush the streamlets,
but great rivers flow silently.

A. Because the Buddha said, that if we gain an insight (to help) it should be followed by action. (Somewhere in the Dhammapada, -couldn't find it ad hoc.) Only venting is useless.
B. It will strengthen our feeling of community to do something out of compassion in an attempt to help other sentient beings. A virtuous deed done together is a very good thing.
C. It makes me happy when I see the good will and compassion in others.
So you see a pyramid A-B-C, upside down.
On top the Buddha & Dhamma, then the community, then the individual...
FWIW.

Thank you. Let's hope it makes a difference. At least we tried, and this is certainly better than only venting in threads.Ben wrote:Done, though I don't think its going to make one iota of difference.
Even if we can't help the whales, which is not known, we help ourselves, through good intention followed by an action which will result in karma.
And who knows, perhaps it will have an effect.
There is a movie out about the slaughtering of dolphins. One of the Klitschko brothers is drawing attention to it. Now it is getting harder and harder for the men to enjoy their orgiastic blood bath.
There was Brigitte Bardot, who made a large public aware of the baby seals who didn't know about it and made them cautious what to buy.
There is a German actor named Hannes Jaenicke who fights for the small populations of Orang Utans that are still left.
We, the small people, have power, if we bundle it and send a laser beam into people's minds, so they can start reacting, in many ways, like boycotting industrial products, etc.
Good morning, everybody.
