"He, the Blessed One, is indeed the Noble Lord, the Perfectly Enlightened One;
He is impeccable in conduct and understanding, the Serene One, the Knower of the Worlds;
He trains perfectly those who wish to be trained; he is Teacher of gods and men; he is Awake and Holy. "

Apparent here and now, timeless, encouraging investigation,
Leading to liberation, to be experienced individually by the wise. "

Hello Kusala,

This is so good to see - and a relief as well. Much merit to the Monks!

Thanks for posting this, Kusala. It would be great to see this example multiplied many times over throughout Burma. If one Abbot will support this kind of Metta and Karuna, then others should, too. A domino effect of kindness and assistance. There were so many early examples of rogue monks contributing to the incitements to violence that I feel it made it hard for the good monks and abbots to act publicly. I'd also like to see these rogue violent monks prosecuted so that we need not ever see such a terrible violation of Vinaya in Burma again by the bhikkhu sangha.

Why are those who have publicly committed parajika and other serious offences not being disciplined by the hierarchy in Burma, let alone being prosecuted by the state?
