Dennis Ritchie, co-creator of C and Unix (essential components or precursors to Linux, the current MacOS, and just about everything else computer-related...) died a few days ago.

Now if I could just find out who stole (umm... borrowed?) my copy of:

Rest in peace dmr. I burned up many years with C and unix, I appreciate it. Great and important tools.
Seriously, the importance of his role in this digital age would be hard to overstate.

Vale Dennis Ritchie!
Some years ago when my youngest son was still a baby I had the hair-brained idea of returning to University to get my graduate diploma in software engineering. In order to reduce my course load I decided to take a subject during summer school. It was programming in C++. What an education that was! As a result of that experience I deferred my post grad course indefinitely. Not because i disliked the experience but more because I realized that with a young baby and another small child at home as well as a fulltime job, I just didn't have the time.
Hey Mike, I think I've got your book!
kind regards
Ben
