Hi all!
I first started studying Buddhism through the Japanese Mahayana Buddhist traditions (Rissho Kosei-kai, Nichiren Shu, Jodo Shinshu, etc.) but I have found myself increasingly drawn to the teaching and practice style of Theravada Buddhism. I am still very grateful for the teachings and I think that a study of Theravada in addition will add much to my understanding and practice. I am geographically isolated from other Buddhists so I am hoping to learn from y'all (and websites like Access to Insight).

Thanks for the welcome! I will review some of the suggested resources and will post more as I feel led and am able (I'm going through a bout of bilateral renal stones and am on pain medication while I wait for my surgery on Thursday morning so I am often tired, groggy, and in pain).
Kidney stones are not fun (especially when they are 2cm and over).
