Re: The teachings of Ven. Waharaka Abhayaratanalankara Thero

Many people talk linguistic, personal attacks like this guy from "site" (trekmentor) which is just manifestation of ignorance (dislike towards something the same as himself as we are on the same sansaric boat) but what about meaning? Provide the real meaning as those articles and videos so...

Re: The teachings of Ven. Waharaka Abhayaratanalankara Thero

Without proper arguments, you are the one who is making fool of yourself constantly showing your dislike towards what Lal provided here. And when "proper arguments" are offered —as they they have repeatedly been, both here and at Sutta Central— you make a fool of yourself by responding wi...

Here's a link to a video that shows this foolish monk explaining ānāpānasati as per his views: //img.endchannel.com/yt/uSCxzqYuSu8/mqdefault.jpg Without proper arguments, you are the one who is making fool of yourself constantly showing your dislike towards what Lal provided here. Your own hatred t...

Re: The teachings of Ven. Waharaka Abhayaratanalankara Thero

I moved back for a while, pardon my hypocrisy. Maybe my explanation will be good for those people who give themselves chance to understand and analyze what is spoken here. First why everybody here has an attitude to defend their camp rather than come out to the truth and look for it. Buddha Dhamma d...

Re: The teachings of Ven. Waharaka Abhayaratanalankara Thero

Pure Dhamma helped me to realize insight into this world and bring experiences I didn't have with any of other meditations and traditions. I pretty understand your stance against it but it's from the very ignorant perspective - those who are in opposite simply cling to their wrong views and what the...

Re: What Is The Need Of Studying Philosophy?

I personally studied most of philosophy from west and east by more then 10 years. I have right view on philosophy and know it very well from different views and context. From ancient-medieval period mostly, without modern or postmodern ones. What I can say, some philosophers are wonderful beings, ca...

Re: What Is The Need Of Studying Philosophy?

That's what philosophers do. Not realizing that there is no end and no point and no results in philosophy - it's matter of time when it will be come hindrance.

Re: What Is The Need Of Studying Philosophy?

Philosophy can open the mind and perspective, generate insight and shed some light into reality but by doing that it will create another wall so it's endless process.

Re: My criticism of Thanissaro and other "half selfers"

Pardon me, but do you understand that Budda showed the "Way". I would say literally Way to cessation of suffering? Do you think what you are doing is right effort that bring cessation of suffering?

Re: Mara and demons are "real".

This is when we have go into speculative knowledge or ideas and I do not think the buddhism is about it. We need to look on this topic related to the suttas. For my personal experience is that those demons are related to kilesas (hindrences). As such I would not really think of Mara as being but rat...

Re: My criticism of Thanissaro and other "true selfers"

I think those matters can not be settled up intellectualy. The best is to come towards realization and insight and then mind affected by realization and insight will explain it clearly to people as Buddha did. If we start position ourselves in such and such point of view against such and such it wil...

Re: Mara and demons are "real".

Mara can not touch you if you follow right effort. That's true but one way or another you will have meeting with Mara, but it's just to crush "it" as Buddha said. :anjali:
