Re: problem breathing when focusing on breath.

I was just breathing normally, but there was just too much focus on the breathing caused tightening up and therefore a shortness of breath. Actually last night, when I foun...

Re: problem breathing when focusing on breath.
I have noticed once when I was not paying too much attention to the breath and it seems that I am doing reverse breathing. I mean my belly goes out when I exhale and it goes in when I inhale. and maybe that's why I am having this problem. so, what do I do to correct this and breath normally i.e. bel...

Re: disturbing noise and anger
that empty boat quote is so true. I can imagine how a person wouldnt shout at an empty boat. or how I wouldn't feel as bad if it were a non living thing such as a cement mixer or even if there was a road drill being used by a person, because there would be no option. but in the case, when I have a s...

hey,it's exactly the same for me.Spiny Norman wrote:Yes, I've noticed I'm not disturbed by natural sounds because there is nobody to blame for them. I am talking about noisy conditions at home, when the other family members are watching tv. the sound is loud no matter how much I tell them. the noise does disturb and I want to change this. I want to accept the noise bu...

Re: any retreat by ajahn brahm in thailand?
Many monasteries will have a sense of quiet and peace where you can meditate. I can't really give you any specifics as I'm from Europe, but what I mean to say is you don't need to go to Bodhinyana or a retreat by Ajahn Brahm to find some peace. Perhaps some place more local that you may think is no...

problem breathing when focusing on breath.
I am following ajahn brahms method and he says all you need to do is to let go and keep letting go. the rest follows from that. soon stage 1 evolves into stage 2 and then into stage 3 and onwards. Now, I started meditating like this only about a month ago and have only become regular since the last ...

any retreat by ajahn brahm in thailand?
Hi, I am interested in attending a retreat by ajahn brahm, as I have read his books and love the way he explains meditation and things. so, will he be holding a retreat in thailand? if not, then are any monasteries in thailand in the lineage of ajahn chah, that hold regular retreats there? I wish to...
