Re: Why is there no hatred associated with wrong view?

Thank you all for the replies! Very insightful :) Someone had asked about what specific passage I was referring to. It is the Abidhammattha Sangaha, in 1. Compendium of Consciousness, section 5, which is on Consciousness Rooted in Hatred. If I'm understanding the responses to this thread correctly, ...

Why is there no hatred associated with wrong view?

I'm wondering why, in 1.5, there is no hatred associated with wrong view. For example, if you see a garden hose that you think is a snake, you might immediately feel aversion, which would seem directly tied to your wrong view. Please correct me :)

With metta
Those are good publishers! But unfortunately, Bhikkhuni Kusuma is a controversial figure in Sri Lanka because she is a woman, and so a Sri Lankan publication is unlikely.

Where could I publish a book by Venerable Dr. Bhikkhuni Kusuma?

Hello! I have recorded, transcribed, and edited a book by Venerable Dr. Bhikkhuni Kusuma. It is about 25,000 words in length. Do you know where I could publish it? I would love to see it in book format, or at least freely available to all in an online repository that will last the test of time. Than...

Re: The Grind and the Cushion

Fathers, that is exactly what I've been doing. I ride a tuk tuk to work and sit in the back, concentrating on my breath, being mindful of my thoughts, not grasping... and when matters of work arise in my mind, as the tuk tuk sways through traffic, I drop those too, and allow myself to be detached fr...

The Grind and the Cushion

I've recently taken up a very high-pressure job that requires me to put in a whole lot of hours to get things done. Meanwhile, I'm looking to make Buddhism an even deeper part of my life. I'll start meditating regularly soon (I've already begun doing so, irregularly, for the first time in years) and...

I like this. I've often thought of samsara as being in a cage. Awesome post.

Re: the great vegetarian debate

What's missing from this argument is the fact that the production of meat uses way more natural resources and arable land than that of non-meat agricultural goods. In addition, the issue of not being able to afford vegetarianism simply doesn't reflect the reality of most people in the world, who eat...

Ending life's journey

Hello Dhamma Wheel! I've known about you as a community for a long time, but for some reason haven't gotten around to posting until now. That's how the Dhamma has been for me... I'm always putting it off, eschewing what I know deep down is truly important, so that I can spend one more day or year pu...
