Re: Going vegan!

Less than 5% of ALA converts to EPA and less than .5% of ALA converts to DHA, in healthy people. http://chriskresser.com/why-fish-stomps-flax-as-a-source-of-omega-3 This conversion may be better in those who do not eat EPA/DHA directly. Our bodies are incredibly smart: according to the study refere...

Re: The truth about egg yolks?

I'd say its more important to know how your own body responds to a particular thing through listening and testing rather than what any particular research says.

Re: The truth about egg yolks?

Eggs are super healthy for you. http://www.cholesterol-and-health.com/Egg_Yolk.html There is no "bad cholesterol", only destroyed and oxidized LDL, a carrier of cholesterol. When LDL receptors are damaged by inflammation and toxins, the LDL cannot be absorbed, so it cycles through the bloo...

More Than an Apple a Day: Preventing Our Most Common Disease

From one of the most, if not the most informative website on nutrition I frequent. He is really good at summarizing the essence of various studies into short video clips, usually 2-3 minutes long. This is a once a year, hour long summary presentation. I think it is worth watching. The website is a g...

Re: Genocide in Burma: Monks and Perpetuation of Violence

Posted: 28 June 2013 Most people didn't know who the Rwandans were until it was too late, and 800,000 of them were dead. Right now, the fate of Burma's Rohingya people is hanging by a thread. Racist thugs have distributed leaflets threatening to wipe out this small Burmese minority. Already childre...

I use the timer with interval bells function everyday. I also think it is superior to all other timers I've tried.

Re: Vegan diet - and one meal a day ?

It does make it a little more readable, I think.

Why the weird writing? It serves no purpose, and just may turn off people who actually care about this subject.

Re: Roadkill For Dinner? Montana Wants To Make It Legal Rea

This seems logical to me. In India, apparently sandals/shoes are made from cows after they die a natural death. This looks like it is along the sames lines. Although I probably wouldn't eat any roadkill knowingly even if I was not a vegetarian. A good idea, BUT I do wish that more effort was put in ...

Are you familiar with Robert Munroe?

I've had OBE's numerous times, some before I started meditating and some after I started, all not induced intentionally. I'm not sure what it has to do with jhanas, as I have no experience in that area.

Re: seven days with zero tobacco

Could an ex-smoker tell me, does the desire eventually fade and disappear for good? I hope so. When I initially quit, I had been smoking about a half a pack per day. My lungs could never handle more than that. That was also the hardest to quit. For about a year, I dabbled with cigarettes, smoking 1...
