Notice the breath
During meditation I start focus or re-focus on the breath at my nosetip. However this also lead me to breathing 'manually', in and out. It just seems difficult to reach a e.g. state where I notice there is breathing going on outside my nosetip. And when I try let go of the manual breathing, my breat...

Re: Drugs and re-enlightenment?
Insight, whatever discrimination we put into it, is not enlightenment. For if it is, then what to call the enlightenment of Buddha or an Arhat? I must also ask you if you think real insight, is like learning to walk, swim or riding a bicycle or not? I.e. you can ignore, but you do not forget when fi...

Re: Meditaion class in Bangkok
Funny I did not read your post before 4pm today, a quick google and I was on my way. I was there ten minutes before it started. It was a nice place with nice people, and it was a nice session. Thank you.

Re: When do you believe or know that its ok to lie?
there is telling a deliberate lie and being non-discerning. just because you only speak that which is true doesn't mean you say everything at all times. picking the right time is a big part of being truthful. This reminds me of a old saying my grandmother told me about. 'Talking is silver, but sile...

Re: When do you believe or know that its ok to lie?
Ethical issues are not so easy, like always telling the truth. Bottom pitt, there is no need to be stupid. E.g. telling a truth that leads to damage of other beings.

Defilements
Greetings, I'm in need for advices or resources around mental concentration to increase virtue. I believe increased virtue is needed to avoid defilements e.g. of sex and hunger? My body is really not in need to eat to much (a classical example is to much snacks and beer while watching tv), nor do my...

Greetings,
I'm heading to Thailand for a couple of weeks.
Is there anyplace in Bangkok to take meditation class without commit yourself for seven days or more, preferable a place with english speaking teachers available?
