Re: How can we have compassion for child abusers?

As a victim of abuse, they are going to be on my mind. While I recognize my role in choosing to focus on the issue, I am not yet strong enough to keep my focus elsewhere. Shortly after this post, I found out that my older cousin, who abused me, died of liver failure. This brought on a whole slew of...

Re: Thanissaro Bikkhu and manipulation of the breathe

He encourages people to breathe through their eyes, through their hands. It feels good to tap into the "breath energy" which is indeed coursing through the body, as ki, or chi, though T.B doesn't acknowledge it as such. The founder of the tradition (Ajahn Lee) developed it to heal his bod...

Re: Why I Hate Buddhism

I tend to think about the 3rd noble truth, you said that your belief are the same as the buddha, so the important thing is, there's an end to suffering. Whenever I feel like 'hating' buddhism because the practice is getting me nowhere, I think of this, the 3rd noble truth.

That was an interesting read, thank you for taking the time to write it. I'll keep it in mind when practicing and surely come back a few times to re-read it.

Re: Shaking during meditation

this has happened to me on several occasions over the past year, it was quite violent at times for me. I was concerned the first time it happened and the second time I spoke to some monastics about it to get some different views upon it, one opinion was it was simply the wind element (the element o...

Re: Shaking during meditation

Hi Carlos Try and remained focused on the object of meditation for as long as possible without a break in your concentration.. As concentration develops we notice all sorts of subtle stuff going on in our mind and body we had been previously unaware of. Don't pay it any attention and retrain your f...
