Re: Sutta help (finding certain texts)
Hello, just wondering if anyone is able to find a sutta, it is about a low caste member who was bad at memorizing even a single verse, so the Buddha gave him a white cloth and told him to rub it between is fingers and say 'unclean' and eventually his seemingly clean hands managed to dirty the cloth,...

Re: Visuddhimagga: piti included in the formations aggregate
Abhidhamma places pīti as one of the wholesome mental factors, it's a jhāna factor which arises with sukha vedanā. Pīti isn't intrinsically wholesome but is reckoned as wholesome when it arises in a wholesome consciousness or as unwholesome when it arises in an unwholesome (i.e., a greed-rooted) co...

Abhidhamma places pīti as one of the wholesome mental factors, it's a jhāna factor which arises with sukha vedanā. The mental factors (minus perception and 'feeling') are considered as saṇkhāra khandha.

Re: Looking for sutta
Was reading a sutta and it made me think of this thread Assalayana Sutta: With Assalayana MN 93 "Then the seven brahman seers said to the seer Devala the Dark, 'Now who is this, walking back & forth in the courtyard of the seven brahman seers like a village lout, saying, "Well, now, wh...

Re: Sutta help (finding certain texts)
I am unable to recall which sutta it is where the teachers of other sects are in their assembly and asked to explain a point, their student will stand up and say not to ask it of him, he does not know, ask it of me, but when the blessed one explains something not even the sound of the clearing of th...

Re: Sutta help (finding certain texts)
I am curious if anyone can tell me if there is a sutta where the buddha explains the ways of answering questions, either with yes or no, by reframing the question, answering analytically, or by counter question....or something like that. I tried finding the sutta, but now i wonder even if it was rea...
