Re: Where could I publish a book by Venerable Dr. Bhikkhuni Kusuma?
I am from Sri Lanka and I have seen a few of her books at the Buddhist Cultural Center. If I am not mistaken, she was ordained by the chief priest of the Buddhist cultural Center. My advice is to write to them and see. Even Sarasavi might be interred as that is a normal book shop unlike the other tw...

Re: Seeking advice on the best way to apply Ajahn Mun's dhutanga kammaṭṭhāna practice in modern times
I visited a forest Monastery in Sri Lanka last Sunday. The monks don't go on Charika but do live in the forests. Each Kuti is about 5 km away from the other. You can read about it here. http://bhaddekavihari.org/about The Chief monk will be in Perth for three weeks . He will be residing at Ajahn Bra...

Re: Seeking advice on the best way to apply Ajahn Mun's dhutanga kammaṭṭhāna practice in modern times
I had the good fortune of meeting this Venerable Thero twice and offering Dana. His student Venerable Nanaloka thero now goes on Charika . I saw him a few years ago, just about to leave on Charika, he was barefooted and not even carrying an umbrella. He only had his Bowl . It was very inspiring to s...

Re: Merit accumulation in our past lives
I am not aware of a sutta where the Buddha has said this. Maybe, this is mentioned in the commentaries, I think the aim of the priest was to make people aware of their store of merit which has been accumulated in previous lives. Here in Sri Lanka, you find less people meditating compared to the numbe...

Re: Trying to find a sutta.
Thank you Cittasanto for you response. I did see this in the link that was provided above. I have been asked to write an article for a little booklet that will be published for the Katina ceremony . The title of the article I have chosen is the "Gradual training." I felt that the one about...

Re: Trying to find a sutta.
Thank you santa100 and plwk for the links. I faintly remember as if there was a smilie given by the Buddha where he says, just like the rain which falls equally on flat land, hills and rivers, one must give alms to the monastics , the poor, the rich and animals.one mustn't choose but give equally to...

Re: Black Lab Consciousness
Thanks tiltbillings for the link.
However, I am unable to listen to it as I am short of hearing.it is a pity as I know there are many good talks on Dharma seed.
Thanks Phil for the transcribed section. That was very helpful.

Re: Where does 30 minutes a day of meditation lead ?
MarkNZed wrote I'd love to hear of stories of laypeople who have made significant progress on the path. I've not yet been able to track down writings on the topic by a "householder" but I'm guessing they exist. There is a website where letters written between a laywoman and a meditation te...
