Re: Not self - Ven. Yuttadhammo got it wrong too?
Sorry to revive an old thread, I just wanted to address the accusations about impropriety and being ejected from Sri Lanka, as they are to the best of my knowledge without any basis. I left Sri Lanka after almost dying from Dengue fever, there are many people who can confirm that - getting dengue a ...

Re: Copyright on the Dhamma
And as you know, ATI offers Ven. Ñāṇamoli's translation of The Path of Purification for free download. And BPS offers many free publications in their Online Library . All things considered, there is a significant number of Pāli texts freely available in English translation. Yes, this is true... but...

Re: Copyright on the Dhamma
So, who is going to pay for all of this? That's a bit of a ridiculous question, considering that the majority of the Buddhist world can and does pay for the writing, translating, editing, publishing, and distribution of millions of copies of dhamma books every day. The dearth of good English transl...

re: wrong livelihood, read the Mahasila of the Brahmajala Sutta ... it doesn't matter whether a monk is conning people, if, while living off food given by the faithful (saddhādeyyāni bhojanāni bhuñjitvā), he does any sort of work for lay people, this is considered wrong livelihood, corruption of fam...

Just wanted to pop in and pass along this link in case anyone here is interested in starting a Buddhist Q&A forum. There are plans in the works for adding a StackExchange for Buddhism, and they only need 16 more participants to meet the quota for acceptance. If you're interested, here's the link...
